The WPLoyalty – Mailchimp Integration add-on seamlessly connects WPLoyalty with Mailchimp, automatically syncing your customers’ loyalty information to your chosen Mailchimp audience. Every point earned, every referral generated, and every loyalty milestone is reflected in Mailchimp in real time — empowering you to send smarter, more personalized email campaigns that drive engagement and repeat sales.

How does the WPLoyalty – Mailchimp Integration add-on work?

Download and install the WPLoyalty – Mailchimp Integration add-on. Then, activate the add-on and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Generate Your Mailchimp API Key

Log in to your Mailchimp account and click your profile icon in the top-right corner. From the profile page, go to ExtrasAPI keys.

On the Your API keys page, click Create A Key.

Enter a descriptive name for the key (e.g., WPLoyalty – Integration) in the API Key Name field, then click Generate Key.

Mailchimp will display your new API key. Click Copy To Clipboard to copy it, then click Done.

Note: You’ll only see the full API key immediately after generating it. Make sure to copy and save it securely — Mailchimp won’t show it again.

Step 2: Connect WPLoyalty to Mailchimp

In your WordPress admin, navigate to WPLoyalty – Mailchimp Integration. In the Settings tab, paste your Mailchimp API key into the Enter your Mailchimp API Key field and click Connect.

Once connected, the status will change from Inactive to Active, confirming the integration is live.

Step 3: Select Your Mailchimp List and Migration Option

After connecting, two additional options appear:

  • Select Mailchimp List — Choose the Mailchimp audience where customers will be added and synced. The add-on automatically creates three merge fields in this list: REF_CODE, REF_URL, and POINTS.
  • Migration existing users? — Choose your migration option:
    • Yes — Migrate all existing WPLoyalty customers to the selected Mailchimp list.
    • No — Only sync customers going forward, whenever their points update.

Click Save Changes to apply your configuration.

Step 4: Perform Sync and Monitor Migration Status

Click Perform Sync at the top right to start syncing your customers to Mailchimp. A Migration Status panel appears, giving you real-time visibility into the sync process:

  • Total Members — Total users queued for sync
  • Success — Customers successfully synced to Mailchimp
  • Failures — Customers that failed to sync
  • Batches — Number of batches processed
  • Status Indicator — Shows In progress while syncing

You’ll also see the Last checked timestamp so you know when the status was last updated.

Step 5: Enjoy Automatic Real-Time Sync

Once the initial setup is complete, the add-on takes over automatically:
  • Point updates sync instantly – When a customer earns or spends points, their Mailchimp record updates in real time.
  • Deletions are mirrored – Customers removed from WPLoyalty are automatically removed from the Mailchimp list.
  • Bulk imports are handled automatically – When you import customers into WPLoyalty via CSV, they’re queued for Mailchimp sync with no manual action needed.
